Who is responsible for your data

Corina Zegrean, trading as Student Property Moves, Canterbury, Kent, UK, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: zegrean@aol.com.

What we collect and why

  • Account details (name, email, login credentials) — to create and run your account. Legal basis: contract.
  • Listing content (property details, photos, contact name, phone, email) — to publish your advert. Legal basis: contract.
  • Enquiries (name, email, phone, message) — to pass your enquiry to the advertiser. Legal basis: legitimate interests / contract.
  • Home-finder preferences (budget, areas, dates, notes) — to suggest matching listings; processed by our AI provider and not stored. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, logs) — for security, fraud prevention and keeping the site working. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers who host and run the site (hosting, database, storage, AI processing).
  • Stripe, our payment processor, to take listing payments, prevent fraud and handle tax and receipts.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities where required by law.

Information you put in a public listing, including contact details, is visible to anyone visiting the site.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and listing data while your account is active and for up to 12 months after a listing expires or your account closes, then delete or anonymise it. Payment records are kept as required by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, object to processing and withdraw consent. Email us and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls and private photo storage.

Cookies

We only use essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and the site working. We do not use advertising cookies.
